“Be careful what you pretend to be, because you are what you pretend to be.” –Kurt Vonnegut
Fact: I am not a professional writer.
I am also not a “published” writer, in the traditional sense of the word. The two novels so far you can buy from links on this site are self-published and–which some may find painfully clear–self-edited. They and this blog represent my oeuvre. They are the package, they are the resume, as far as the world is concerned they are my writing.
So exactly what on God’s green earth qualifies me to show you how to write?
In the sense of how this world defines “credibility:” nothing.
And in the sense of how writing really works: no more or less than anyone else.
This page is the blog within the blog where I hope to show you what’s worked for me to make this art I enjoy, enjoyable.
I firmly believe that writing is an everyman’s art, that while some may find it easier than others to do, anyone can do it because anyone can think and the more one writes, the better one thinks.
Hence I, with no “qualifications” or “cred,” here arrogantly invite you to upgrade your mind and uplift your soul. Watch for new entries weekly.
Here’s an oldie but goodie from this blog to get you started. A lot of entries here will expand upon this list, so if there’s one you want to dig in to, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll give you stuff to dig. Enjoy!
